THE HISTORY OF BREWERIES - a brief history of all Slovak breweries with autentic records about their development from the foundation up to now. This page will constantly completed and can be found and read only in Slovak language.

SLOVAK BREWERIES

Pivovar URPÍN spol. s r.o., Sládkovičova 37, 975 90 B. BYSTRICA
Founded in 1971, the owner Pavel Čupka, production in the year 2000 - 193 550 hectolitres, filled in bottles, kegs and cans. In the last years exported to Sweden, Poland and Russia

STEIN beverages a.s., Blumentálska 19, 816 13 BRATISLAVA
Founded in 1873, production in the year 2003 - 139 661 hl, producer of beer and soft drinks from Bratislava, the only one slovak producer of lemon beer RADLER, export to Hungary.

Pivovar Popper , Sakalovej 158/39, 014 24 BYTČA
Founded in 1604, production 109 978 hl of beer in the year 2000, filled in bottles, kegs and cans, in the last years exported to Poland, Czech republic, Slovenia, Sweden and Ukraine.

Pivovar ZLATÝ BAŽANT a.s., Novozámocká 2, 947 12 HURBANOVO
Founded in 1967, production in the year 2000 - 953 500 hl , the biggest Slovak brewery at present, the owner is the Heineken-Slovakia Company. Bottled, canned and filled in kegs. Exported to 17 countries.

Pivovar MARTINER a.s., Hrdinov SNP 7, 036 42 MARTIN Closed in year 2003
Founded in 1893, production in the year 2000 - 332 780 hl, bottled, canned, filled in kegs, since 2000 the owner in Heineken -Slovakia Company, exported to most of the European countries.

Pivovar CORGOŇ a.s., Štefánikova 79, 949 40 NITRA
Founded in 1958, production 573 600 hl in the year 2000, filled in bottles, kegs and cans, distribuded only in Slovakia, no exported abroad. At present owned by Heineken-Slovakia Company.

Pivovar TATRAN a.s., Murgašova 1, 058 80 POPRAD
Founded in 1812, production 179 153 hectolitres in the year 2000, filled in bottles, kegs, in the last years exported to Russia, Poland and Yugoslavia.

Pivovar a sladovňa GEMER a.s. , Cukrovarská 67/1, 979 01 R. SOBOTA
Founded in 1966, production 225 255 in the year 2000, bottled, canned and filled in kegs, in the last years exported to Italy, Slovenia, Germany, Romania, Ukraine, Russia. Owned by Heineken-Slovakia Company.

Pivovar TOPVAR a. s., Krušovská 2092, 955 14 TOPOĽČANY
Founded in 1964, production 604 314 hl in the year 2000, filled in bottles, kegs and 5l party kegs. Exported to Italy, Germany, Sweden, Finland, USA, Russia, Ukraine and Poland.

Esperia a. s., Pivovar HORDEN, Orešanská 11, 918 59 TRNAVA Closed in year 2003
Founded in 1974, production 84 838 hectolitres in the year 2000, filled in bottles and kegs, in the last years exported to Ukraine and Slovenia, the owner Gustav Harmer from Austria.

Pivovar ŠARIŠ a. s., Pivovarská 9, 082 21 VEĽKÝ ŠARIŠ
Founded in 1968, production 773 128 hl in the year 2000, filled in bottles, cans and kegs, in the last years exported to Ukraine and Germany. The majority owner is the South African company SAB.

Eduard Rada spol. s r.o., Pivovar STEIGER, 966 02 VYHNE
Founded in 1473, the owner Eduard Rada, production in the year 2000 - 291 137 hl, filled in bottles, cans and kegs, in the last years exported to Ukraine, Great Britain and Czech republic.

SLOVAK MICROBREWERIES

PERLA- Andrej Nutter, 1. hostinský pivovar na Slovensku, Horná 52, 974 01 B. BYSTRICA
Founded in 1992, the owner Andrej Nutter, produced 1 200 hectolitres per a year. The small brewery and a restaurant are in one single bulilding, beer produced and sold only in the pub ifselt.

Pivovar DOBROVAR, Slávikova 209/40, 962 61 DOBRÁ NIVA
Founded in 1994, original owner Ľubomír Švarc, ( the change of the owner in 1999), production 2 400 hl, microbrewery and restaurant in one building.

SIGIP spol. s r.o., gen. Klapku 3090, 945 01 KOMÁRNO
Founded in 1995 , production 3120 hl per a year, filled in kegs and 5 l party kegs, beer distributed only in the district, brewery and restaurant in one single building.

Pivovar GOLEM, Dominikánske námestie 15, 040 01 KOŠICE
Founded in 2002, the owner Ing. Beáta Murková, production 1500 hl of beer. Microbrewery and restaurant are in one unit area, beer is sold only in it's own restaurant.

Pikolo spol. s r.o., Pivovar KALTENECKER, Edelényska 2, 048 01 ROŽŇAVA
Founded in 1997, the owners Peter Legnár and Ladislav Kováč, production 7000 hl of beer, filled in kegs. Its a new, modern microbrewery with a restaurant.

CODECON spol. s r.o. Minipivovar Svätý Jur, Prostredná 1, 900 21 SVATÝ JUR
Founded in 1995, production 5000 hl per a year, labelled Kláštorný ležiak ( lager) filled in bottles and 5 l party kegs. The small brewery and restaurant in one building.

AMADEUS MP spol. s r.o., Pivovar Šurany, Komenského 66, 942 01 ŠURANY
Founded in 1997, the owner RNDr. Jozef Valachovič CSc., production 72 hectolitres, filled only in kegs and 5 l party kegs labelled as Šuriansky ležiak ( lager). The small brewery in one building.

M.K. Unipol spol. s r.o., pivovar BARBAKAN, Štefánikova 11, 917 01 TRNAVA
Founded in 1995, production 3400 hl, filled in bottles, kegs and 5 l party kegs. The small brewery and restaurant in one building, beer Barbakan distributed only in the district. Brewing proces stopped in 2004

Pivovar POD LIPOU, M.R.Štefánika 136, 093 01 VRANOV nad Topľou
Founded in 1995, production 100 hl, filled only in kegs, and labelled "Gazdovská desiatka" and "Čierny barón". The small brewery and restaurant in one building and distributed only in the neighbrourhoad.
